Kogi Govt Commences Payment of Bursary to Students

Kogi state government has commenced the payment of bursary allowance to indigenous students across the country.

The payment as billed, will capture students who completed their registration on the bursary portal (www.kssb.kg.gov.ng) before the deadline.

The bursary payment is scheduled to be paid in batches as some students have already started receiving credit alert directly into their registered bank account.

National Diploma (ND); National Certificate of Education (NCE), and School of Nursing and Health Science students are receiving credit alerts of N9,000.

Students undergoing Degree/Higher National Diploma (HND) are receiving credit alert N12,000, while Law/Medicine students are receiving N18,000.

The bursary portal will be reopened for prospective students to register for the 2018/2019 bursary allowance.

Governor Yahaya Bello, while reiterating his focus on education as one of the priorities of his administration urged students to key into the programs of the scholarship board in order to take advantage of the huge benefits that are available to them there.

About a month ago, Governor Bello increased the bursary allowance of Kogi state indigenes in tertiary institutions by 300 percent with immediate approval of payment to registered students for the 2017/2018 academic session.

A total of 8,318 students registered for the bursary allowance nationwide, while over N98 million has been approved by the governor for payment of the allowance.
