Nigerian Yahoo Boys Should Lend Us money, Nigeria Is Collapsing” — Lai Mohammed Pleads

By MINISTER of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday, said the Federal Government is unable to implement the capital votes of the 2017 budget because of lack of funds.
The declaration by Mohammed was coming some 24 hours after the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, told foreign visitors that the Federal Government would soon release N750 billion to fund capital projects in the 2017 budget.
Speaking during the 2018 budget defence session, at the Senate, on Tuesday, Mohammed said “it is not that government is deliberately withholding releases to fund the 2017 budget or starving us. It is because we do not have enough money to do that.
“When budgets are made, they are made based on certain assumptions and if you are not able to get enough to meet your assumptions, there will be poor release.
“At least, there is an improvement in different sectors like the Nigeria Customs Service, while the price of crude oil is getting better. There is also more peace in the Niger Delta. So we can produce more,” he said.
The minister also told newsmen after appearing before the Senate Committee on Tourism that President Muhammadu Buhari was currently spearheading a programme where Africans, including Nigerians, would not need a visa to visit other African nations.

According to him, once the visa regime was liberalised, tourists would be encouraged to visit African countries.
The minister said there was an improvement in visa regime in the country, adding that the current “visa on arrival programme” recently introduced by the Federal Government was working well.
“Anybody who has been observing what is happening in the creative industry, including culture, film industry, and fashion, will see that there is remarkable transformation and that is because the government has provided the enabling environment.
“The creative industry is on a tripod, the government, the private sector and the practitioners and what government has done is to give the support that the industry needs to grow.
“For instance, sometime this year, the Federal Government included the film industry in the list of industries that will enjoy pioneer status.
“What this means is that if you invest in this industry with a certain amount of money, you will be entitled to a tax holiday for three years at the initial stage and another two years.
“In addition, dividends from your businesses will be exempted from taxation. This is one of the incentives government has given,” he said.

Man Kicks His Girlfriend’s 5-month-old Baby To Death Because He Caught Her Doing This

The horrific death of a 5-month-old baby killed by his mother’s boyfriend in Michigan because he suspected her of cheating, has shocked everyone who’s heard of it.

19-year-old Rico Antonio Riggs kicked and severely injured baby Jordan Algee Jr. after the child’s 23-year-old mother Temara Shaniece Reed left the baby at home with him as she went to the store to buy something.

Riggs went through Reed’s phone while she was away and he found text messages from other men and this angered him, so he took the anger out on the child. He reportedly went into the room where the baby was and kicked the baby.

“I lost control, spazzed out and kicked the baby,” Detective Brett Orvis told a judge Reed admitted to him.

When Reeds came home to find her baby crying uncontrollably and having difficulty breathing, she took him to McLaren Flint hospital.

When the baby arrived at the hospital, doctors at first thought he was dead. He was then revived and was immediately transported to Hurley Medical Center, where he died of his injuries on March 25th. An autopsy showed his cause of death was blunt force trauma.

At first, Riggs denied knowledge of what happened to the child. He told police that Reed’s other child, her daughter Nyla, was responsible for the infant’s deadly injuries.

After giving several different accounts of his story, Riggs later admitted he kicked the child over text messages in Reed’s phone that showed she had been in contact with her ex-boyfriends. Riggs also admitted to police he was mad because his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriends had been over the house when he wasn’t there.
Following the death of Jordan Jr., Riggs was arrested and charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse, first-degree child abuse committed in the presence of another child, tampering with evidence, and intimidating witnesses.
The boy’s mother, Temara Reed, was also charged after she was convinced by Riggs to lie and cover up for him. She was charged with tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer conducting a violent crime investigation, being an accessory after the fact to a felony, and third-degree child abuse.
If convicted, Reed could up to 21 years in prison. Riggs faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole if he is convicted of the most serious charges.
Before her arrest, Reed posted on Facebook the night of her son’s death, mourning him. She said losing him is the worst pain she’s ever had to bear.
“He gone. My baby gone what im gone do why me,” she wrote on the night of the infant’s death.
The next day, she wrote on Facebook: “I wanna thank all my family, friends & everyone that may not know me for praying for me.
I can’t say I’m ok because I’m not but I can say Being a mother of 2 & losing 1 is the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life ! I just can’t wrap my finger around this one.”
She also posted a photo of her smiling son and wrote: “Not waking up to you is killing me man.”

Organisation Set To Hold Youth Peace Conference In Abuja

The 2018 Nigeria Youth Peace Conference, organise by Peace Ambassador Agency with the theme, "The role of Nigeria youth, security agencies, media and religious leaders in the forthcoming election" and scheduled to hold in March at Barcelona hotel Abuja is aimed at delivering top notch peace education and enlightenment campaign to Nigerian youth while also efficiently engaging stakeholders in the peace building process.

The event which is in its 3rd edition wants Nigerian youths to grasp and understand the political intrigues, permutations and facts about the country for future benefit.

According to the organiser, Kingsley Amafibe, the youths make up over 60 per cent of the electorate; hence they participate actively in the politics of electing their leaders and representatives in government.

"The apparent reality is that we are yet to arrive at an acceptable standard where the youth (electorate) can confidently say that their votes will count. There are obvious problems which require the concerted efforts of the politicians (and their respective political parties), the electorate (the youths) and INEC to address in other to achieve this.

'In full consideration of important factors, the youths are a relevant determinant in all elections and the subsequent ones. The political phenomenon in Nigeria is absolutely disheartening. Electoral body, INEC, and the youths, though it should be correctly noted and pointed out that the mindset of the youths is affected greatly by the influences of the politicians and INEC.

"The future of Nigeria is shaped by the calibre of youths who participate in the politics of the country. I met a concerned senior citizen who explained to me without mincing words that the most qualified youths who are worthy to serve and lead the citizenry in governance of Nigeria are emigrating at an alarming rate,' he explained.

Atiku Remains Best Presidential Candidate For 2019 – Group

A group, the Atiku Mandate 2019, has been launched in Lagos with members, stating that a former vice president of the country, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains the best presidential candidate capable of moving the country forward among gladiators jostling for the nation’s Presidency.

Vanguard reports that, the Lagos state coordinator of the group, Prince Lanre Osundairo at the end of the inaugural meeting of the group in Ikeja, said the country needed the former number two man, owing to the vast political contacts across the length and breadth of the country would steer the country to the proverbial promise land.

Osundairo, who is a chieftain of PDP, praised Atiku as perhaps the best prepared for the job and that Nigerians should give him the opportunity to lead them.

Addressing the media shortly after the meeting, which lasted for two hours, Osundairo stated that “As you can see, most of the people you see here are not politicians but people who have genuine love for the former vice president.

“I admit that some of us are politicians but the propelling rationale for being members of this movement is for us to ensure that our principal assumes the mantle of leadership of the country.”

On the scope of the new group, he said: “We are putting in place a viable platform for all Nigerians who love the man (Atiku) to come together to demonstrate our love for him by canvassing for votes for him at the grassroots.”

We’re behind Buhari, Tinubu, says Kogi APC

We’re behind Buhari, Tinubu, says Kogi APC

Lokoja -  The Kogi State All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday slammed those behind the report purportedly credited to the state wing of the party which disparaged Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The masterminds were described as fifth columnists in the party, who lacked the locus standi to speak for it but out to cause disharmony among members.
In the report, the leadership of the party reportedly vowed to clip the wings of APC chieftain Bola Tinubu and the running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the November 21 governorship election in the Confluence State, James Faleke.
Suleman Ejibunuq and Richard Asaje, who signed the purported report, said the party would frustrate Tinubu’s support for Faleke as replacement for the former Minister of Labour & Productivity, James Ocholi, who died in a road crash.
But the party in a statement by all members of its State Executive Council led by the Chairman, Haddy A. Ametuo, said that APC members have no reason to disparage Tinubu and that President Muhammadu Buhari will be supported to pick anybody, including Faleke, into the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Other signatories are: Shaibu Osune (Deputy Chairman); Adejoh Abdusalam (Secretary); Isah Daniel (vice Chairman, East); Gbenga Asagun (Vice Chairman, West); Ibrahim A Ahovi (Vice Chairman, Central); Isah Abubakar (Organising Secretary); Ghali Inda Usman (Publicity Secretary); Joseph Molemodile (Legal Adviser) and Abubakar Adamu (Welfare Officer).
Others are: Sekpe Daniel (Financial Secretary); Ismaila Ade Yahaya (Deputy Deputy Treasurer); Abdulkadir Yahaya (Deputy Treasurer); Yusuf Okara (Asdsistant Welfare Officer); Bozi Attai (Assistant Financial Secretary); Muhammed S. Lawal (Assistant Organising Secretary); Zakari Adamu (Assistant Youth Leader); Makinde Oyebode (Zonal Youth Leader, West);  Nuhu Akwu (Zonal Youth Leader, East) and Jone One (Zonal Women Leader, East) among others.
Their statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a publication in the punch newspaper of the 3rd of January, 2017, page 18 by some self-styled APC leaders of the western senatorial district of Kogi State threatening to cause crisis in the party if the president nominates Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as the replacement for the late Barrister James Ocholi as the minister representing Kogi State in the Federal cabinet.
“From our records at all levels in the state, these self-styled leaders –  Suleman Ejibunuq and Richard Asaje   are ghost members of our great party.
They, therefore have no ‘locus standi’ to speak for the party at any level.
Asaje worked for Accord candidates in the state and National Assemblies elections, President Jonathan in the presidential election and the PDP’s Capt. Idris Wada in  the governorship election.
“This same Asaje sold his church building in Kanu only to  use the proceeds to build a hotel in Obajana. This man does  not have the moral credibility to be taken seriously.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has the constitutional power to choose whosoever he deem fit as his cabinet member without consulting anyone or group and if he so decides to choose Hon. Faleke as his minister nominee, we strongly support his choice.
"Faleke has been a strong financier and pillar of our party in the state since inception.
“We the entire members of the state exco respect the power of   the president to freely choose whoever he wants to serve in his cabinet, Faleke inclusive.
“We also respect the national leadership of Asinaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose support and influence traverses the national structures of the party.
“We the undersigned members of Kogi State exco of APC strongly condemn the purported publication by these ‘ghost members of APC’”.

MMM stings millions of Nigerians

Nigerians subscribing to MMM may have to wait a month longer to get their refunds or compensation which they have been eagerly awaiting to celebrate Christmas and New Year festivities.

MMM took the decision barely 24 hours after its founder, Sergey Mavrodi, wrote to Nigeria, criticising the later’s constant attacks on the ponzi scheme.

The one month deferment to pay Nigerians is an apparent indication that MMM Nigeria has crashed.

The administrators of the scheme, early Tuesday, announced freezing of participants’ monies for one month.

In a letter posted on the scheme’s website, MMM said; “As usual, in the New Year season, the System is experiencing heavy workload.

Confirming the severity of constant attacks on the controversial scheme, the statement said “moreover, it has to deal with the constant frenzy provoked by the authorities in the mass media.

“Hence, on the basis of the above mentioned, from now on all confirmed Mavro will be frozen for a month”, the statement partly reads.

Mavro is the general name used to describe participants’ money in the system.

It added; “The reason for this measure is evident. We need to prevent any problems during the New Year season, and then, when everything calms down, this measure will be cancelled. (Which we will definitely do.:-))

Urging participants not to panic, MMM said that “the things are still going well; the participants feel calm; everyone gets paid – as you can see, there haven’t been any payment delays or other problems yet – but!.. it is better to avoid taking risk.:-)) (Moreover, there are almost three weeks left to the New Year.)

By implication, over three million Nigerian participants as claimed by the founder, Mavrodi, who were planning to withdraw their money ahead of the yuletide season will have to wait for one month.

Recall that similar scenario had played out in Zimbabwe and South Africa, where participants money were frozen for certain period, pausing the system, only to return with new adjustment in its terms.

One-Month Freezing of Confirmed Mavros

Dear members!

As usual, in the New Year season the System is experiencing heavy workload.

Moreover, it has to deal with the constant frenzy provoked by the authorities in the mass media.

The things are still going well; the participants feel calm; everyone gets paid – as you can see, there haven’t been any payment delays or other problems yet – but!.. it is better to avoid taking risk.:-)) (Moreover, there are almost three weeks left to the New Year.)

Hence, on the basis of the above mentioned, from now on all confirmed Mavro will be frozen for a month.

The reason for this measure is evident. We need to prevent any problems during the New Year season, and then, when everything calms down, this measure will be cancelled. (Which we will definitely do.:-))

We hope for your understanding,

Atiku Abubakar Reveals What Is Ruining Nigeria And It’s Not The Leaders (Read Details)

Atiku Abubakar News
Atiku Abubakar

Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president has said there is a need to restructure the federation of the country.

Speaking on Monday, December 12, at the public presentation of a book titled ‘Nigerian Federalism: Continuing Quest for Stability and Nation-Building’ in Abuja, Atiku said the current system is what is ruining Nigeria and the individuals running it.

He said currently, Nigeria is constituted as an entity that is rooted in corruption, impunity and injustice and thus must be reconstituted.

“Political and civic leaders from across the country must come together, discuss, negotiate and make the necessary compromises and sacrifices needed to restructure our federation to make us a stronger, more united, productive, and competitive country,” the former vice president stated.

According to him, there is a flaw in the country’s constitution which was why there is a recurring cry of marginalization from every section of the country.

“No section of this country can claim correctly that its people are better served by the current structure of our federation. When we were not dependent on oil revenues and when the federating units had greater autonomy of action and were largely responsible for their affairs, they, that is our regional governments, did not owe workers their salaries for several months,” he said.

Atike stated that there were too many weak and unviable states and what the country needs are stronger federal units.

He said what got the country to its centre-dominated federal system is political expediency and fear.

“What I find odd is the argument that we cannot renegotiate our union and every demand for restructuring is an attempt to break up Nigeria,” he added.

Atiku noted that the call for restructuring does not mean a call for Nigeria to break up, but only a call for the imposition of a system where transparency, efficiency and equity will prevail.

The former vice president challenged those who against restructuring the country’s federal system as it currently stands, to show an example of countries that are functioning well with a structure such as Nigeria.

He said each nation has to work out what federal system is best suited for it and in the case of Nigeria, it is disingenuous if not outright dishonest to say that the system is not the problem.

Atiku has been advocating for Nigeria to be restructured. In July, he insisted that restructuring Nigeria is the only solution to the problem confronting the nation. He urged the different components to look at restructuring as a solution, adding that he was a believer in the existence of one Nigeria.

However, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is against calls for country the to be restructured as that is not the solution to the country’s problem. He said the best move was to diversify the economy.

PDP Spends N2.1bn On Sweets, Juice & Food Annually" - Kaduna Commissioner

PDP Spends N2.1bn On Sweets, Juice & Food Annually" - Kaduna Commissioner

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mohammad Abdullahi, on Saturday, alleged that the previous Peoples Democratic Party-led administration in the state spent N2.1billion on sweets, juice and food, annually.

Mr. Abdullahi made this known in Kaduna at a round table discussion on the Kaduna State 2017 budget proposal, organised by the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ.

The commissioner also revealed that N500 million was spent, annually, on purchase of newspapers by the PDP administration.

He, however, stated that the All Progressives Congress-led administration had since decided to cut down on such expenses by channelling the funds to infrastructural development.

He noted that the adoption of the treasury single account and the zero base budget had assisted the state government in generating N38 billion to an open balance of 2016 budget.

“We are borrowing the larger percentage to fund the 2017 budget but it is to be channelled to infrastructural development,” he said.

Mr. Abdulahi called on the media to help in educating the members of public on the breakdown of the 2017 budget so as to ensure its successful implementation.

Earlier, Zhiroh Jatau, Acting chairman of the NUJ in the state, said the discussion had provided an opportunity for members of the press and public to be better informed on what the administration was providing for the overall development of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Governor Nasir El-Rufai on October 12 sent a budget proposal of N215.9 billion for the 2017 financial year.

Return Stolen Funds To Enjoy Peace Of Mind, Buhari Urges Looters

Return Stolen Funds To Enjoy Peace Of Mind, Buhari Urges Looters

 President-Muhammadu-Buhari-NL
President Muhammadu Buhari has again reiterated his call to those who stole public funds to negotiate and return their ill-gotten wealth peacefully.

He made the call yesterday at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja during an Eid el-Fitr homage paid by residents of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

President Buhari, however, warned that if the looters fail to comply, they would not know peace as the government would continue to pursue them until it recovers the looted funds.

“Please, tell those with plenty of money which does not belong to them to try and negotiate and return it in peace so that we will be in peace. Otherwise, we will continue to look for it”, he said.

The president also renewed his call to the Niger Delta militants, who are blowing up oil and gas facilities in the region, to embrace peace and give the country a chance.

He stressed that the unity of the country is not negotiable and advised groups clamouring for Nigeria’s break-up to perish the thought.

The president said the slogan in the 1970s, “Go On With One Nigeria” championed by General Yakubu Gowon (retd), is very apt now as keeping Nigeria one is a task that must be done”.

He noted that while there had been a lot of improvement in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency, government was currently focusing on the Niger Delta militancy.

Mr. Buhari assured the Niger Delta people of justice, saying they would get their dues in accordance with the constitution.

“On security, we have made a lot of improvement. Regarding the Boko Haram insurgency, there is improvement. We are now concentrating on the militants to know how many of them in terms of groupings and leadership as well as plead with them to try and give Nigeria a chance. In those days, we never thought of oil. All we were concerned about was one Nigeria. So, please pass this message to the militants, that one Nigeria is not negotiable. And they had better accepted. The Nigerian constitution is clear as to what they should get, and I assure them there will be justice”, he said.

Earlier in his remarks, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who led the delegation that paid Sallah homage to the president, said the past one year had been tough for the country due to the mess left by the immediate past administration.

Prof. Osinbajo said the Buhari administration inherited a huge financial mess and was still clearing the rot it met on ground.

He assured that the present administration would place the nation on a strong footing, and prayed that as Buhari grows older, he would be stronger.

The FCT Minister, Mohammed Musa Bello, on behalf of Abuja residents, presented a giant season’s greeting card to the president and the Aso Villa chapel, a mirror and another card.

Those in attendance included Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno, some members of the Federal Executive Council, security chiefs, religious leaders and traditional rulers.

The Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara sent representatives to the event.

President Buhari Is “Cleared” To Return To Nigeria Next Thursday

President Buhari Is “Cleared” To Return To Nigeria Next Thursday

SaharaReporters has learned that doctors in the UK who examined President Muhammadu Buhari’s ear infection have cleared him to travel back to Nigeria next week.

A presidential source told our correspondent that Mr. Buhari was likely to leave London for Abuja next Thursday.

The source disclosed that the Nigerian president spent a day at a hospital in London where he underwent a series of tests to diagnose the nature of his ear ailment and a course of treatment. He declined to name the hospital where Mr. Buhari was seen.

According to the source, the doctors in the UK determined that President Buhari’s ear got infected after one of his doctors in Abuja “cleaned” his ear when he complained about a substantial loss of hearing from that particular ear.

The presidential source stated that a female Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctor treated the president.

He said Mr. Buhari’s ear was cleaned again, and antibiotics applied to it. After just two days in the UK, Mr. Buhari reportedly proclaimed that his ear was feeling fine, according to our source.

SaharaReporters learned that President Buhari has returned to the Nigerian diplomatic residence in London known as “Abuja House” where he intends to spend the rest of his time in the UK.

Another source in London disclosed that doctors in the UK had also prescribed a chest x-ray for Mr. Buhari to determine the cause of his persistent cough.

The source said he was not aware what the result of the x-ray was.

A source familiar with the goings-on in the UK told SaharaReporters that Mr. Buhari was expected to travel back to Abuja by next Thursday “if every goes well.”

We Voted For A President But We Now Have An Evangelist ‘ Apostle Suleman

 sule
Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman has decried the rate at which president Muhammadu Buhari travels.

The preacher likened president Buhari’s junketing nature to that of an evangelist who moves from one place to the other.

Suleiman made this comment at the just concluded Holy Ghost Convention tagged God of all flesh in his church’s national headquarters in Auchi, Edo State.

Speaking during the conference, God’s Oracle, as he is fondly called, said Nigerians were tired of the calls for patience by the president.

He said, “People are suffering and you said they should be patient. It is not fair. We voted for a president but we now have an evangelist.

“We need to pray because I also heard that someone’s ear is blind. May God help us,” he added.
