This Is How To Apply For Student Visa In Nigeria (Cost And Requirements)

It has come to our attention a lot of Nigerian youths recently have been looking for ways to leave the country. It’s a sad thing to see.
If this were 10 years ago I’d advise all Nigerians looking forward to leave to stay and become an entrepreneur in Nigeria, but at the moment? I won’t blame anyone trying to Immigrate out of this place.
One of the best ways people try to get citizenship in foreign countries is by starting with studying in those countries.
From our research, there are several countries that Nigerians go to for higher education. Some countries are however more popular than others due to factors like work opportunities, cost of education, immigration policies, etc.
We have picked out the top five countries from the long list and simplified the application process for all five.
The five countries are CanadaUnited KingdomUnited StatesCyprus, and Australia.
At the mention of a Visa, you might get scared. Don’t worry; getting a student visa is not rocket science. With this list, you’ll have everything you need.
Most student visa applications have similar requirements.
They all require you to provide the following:-

1. Get Proof of Admission

First of all for you to apply for any student visa, you need to make sure you’ve been admitted to a school in the respective country.
Your admission letter (or confirmation of enrollment certificate in the case of an Australian student visa) will stand as a proof of admission.

2. Get A Valid International Passport

This is important; if the expiry date of your passport is close, make sure you renew it months before you intend to submit your visa application.
Your passport needs to be valid for at least six months after your visa is granted.

3. You Proof of Financial Support

The step I would like to call 3rd is that you need to provide proof that you’re financially capable of paying your school fees and living expenses abroad.
They want to know that you won’t be a burden to their government. You can do this by providing bank statements showing sufficient funds.
If you’ll be attending school on a scholarship, provide documentation which verifies your scholarship e.g. your scholarship letter.
Before you apply, check for tuition and living costs of studying in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States, and Dubai.

4. Academic Transcripts or Certificates Needed

You also should provide original copies of transcripts, exam certificates, and certificates earned from all schools attended prior to the school you want to attend.
You just need to be able to present documents which show your past academic performance.
You can also decide to attach a resume of documents from your current or previous place of work.

5. Get Passport Photographs

I believe this to be public knowledge, of course you need to take passport photographs for every visa application.
However, every country has different specifications on photo dimensions and numbers. For example, for the U.S Visa Application, the passport picture dimensions are wider than the regular passport picture.
Make sure you check ahead and tell the photographer what you’re taking the picture for. They usually know the correct dimensions.

6. Visa Application Form

The first major step in your student visa application is filling an application form. Most countries have a dedicated website for online applications.
For Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Dubai and Canada.

7. Visa Application Fee

With the application form, you need to pay an application fee. The application fees for:
Canada – 150 Canadian Dollars – approximately 44,400 Naira
United States – 160 US Dollars – approximately 57,700 Naira
Dubai – depends on the university but can range from AED 2720 i.e. 266,950 Naira
United Kingdom – £322 + the health surcharge which is £150 per study year. For a one-year program, that is approximately £420 – 205,030 Naira
Australia – 560 Australian Dollars – 161,390 Naira

8. Additional Requirements

Apart from the mentioned requirements, some countries require additional things as part of their visa application process.
For example, for a Canadian or Australian Visa, you may need to get a medical clearance and Criminal Record Check/police report.
These will attract extra costs.

9. Attend a visa interview

For most first-time visa applications, the respective embassy will require you to attend a physical interview and present all your supporting documents.
Don’t be nervous; just make sure you have everything we’ve listed. You should do further research just to be safe.
If it’s hard to keep up with the long.

In spite of the financial loss suffered by a number of Nigerians who participated in the failed Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox (MMM) in 2016, LegionPays, a similar scheme is making wave among many Nigerians.

Legion Pays, launched on Wednesday, 26/04/2017 has started making the wave as Nigerians troop in to participate in the successful launching of the website. Legion Pays is a peer to peer donation platform that promises a return of 200% on every donation made. They offer packages that are affordable to all their members.

A statement on their website reads "LP was instituted by a team of vibrant individuals with the sole aim to alleviate financial difficulties by creating a channel in which wealth flows between two or more parties with mutual benefits. The platform serves as a community in which people sponsor each other financially. One member asks for sponsorship - another member provides the sponsorship. The system is very simple."

After the launching on Wednesday, different testimonies have been coming in. Mr Obiora Charles, a participant of the platform commented that "I so love this platform, I paid out today and received today... Soo real !! Thanks to legion pays".

Similarly, Adebayo Vincent, an entrepeneur also said he decided to partake in LegionPays and a number of other schemes to support his business. "The money I have gotten from these schemes has been beneficial to the survival of my business in this economy".

Currently, LegionPays uses a automated pairing system which has helped those who donated yesterday to receive back their 200% investment within 24hrs, which is double profit. They also offer huge referral bonues for those who love referring their family, colleagues and team. While other Ponzi sites fade, LegionPays seems to be the next one to take their stand as they worked on the flaws of other similar schemes to bring out the trust in People. It might be worth it to take a dip inside the ocean while it is still hot.

Kogi state Governor Yahaya Bello and the rest of us

January 27, 2016 was an epochal date with destiny for the people of Kogi State as a son of a nobody, man from the rurally rugged Agassa community in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello was inaugurated as the 4th Executive Governor of Kogi State.

The late Prince Abubakar Audi was the first democratically elected Governor of Kogi State. He was succeed by Alh. Ibrahim Idris who also handed over to his bosom friend, Capt. Idris Ichala Wada. The coming of Alh. Yahaya Bello was unusual.

He lost the primaries of his party to the late Prince Abubakar Audi. But Audu died while the election was yet to be concluded. By the doctrine of necessity, the party replaced the departed hero with the man who came second in the gubernatorial primaries. As unusual as his coming, Alh. Yahaya Bello, popularly called GYB, introduced uncommon policies and political ideologies that has threatened the gerontologists of democracy.

For decades, the Kogi political elites had hoodwinked the populace with the wool-in-the-eye politics of ethnicity. Since they had nothing to offer, their only selling point was ethnographic divisions, bitter chauvinism and crafted innuendos that were cancerous to the unity and wellbeing of the inflicted people in order to decimate the process of governance responsiveness. The advent of the GYB leadership has cut short the disingenuous entrenchments of the idiosyncrasies of ethnic play for interest mulching. Hoofing self-centredness with the destinies of others. Today, we have a state where the citizens think Kogi.

On the day of his inauguration, the youngest Governor in the nation demonstrated the remonstrance against ethnic jingoism in the state. He saw Hon. Edward Onoja, his Chief of Staff as a brilliant Kogite rather than an Ogugu man from Kogi East. GYB is the first Governor to look beyond his ethnic root in appointing a Chief of Staff. He also appointed his then SA Media from Kogi Central and his then Chief Press Secretary from Kogi West.

The action showed the fairness in the man known as FairPlus in business circles. Another unusual: GYB spread his appointments across the 21 Local Government Areas in the state.

He has built a state where everyone sees Kogi first and above ethnic considerations. Unity is not a gospel.

It is achieved through demonstrative actions. Within his first year in office, Governor Yahaya Bello was able to commission projects in the College of Science and Health Technology, Idah. He was the first sitting Governor to visit the school. Within his first year in office, GYB was able to commission architectural edifices such as the Revenue House, SDG Office and many others across many sectors.

The Governor has also flagged off many projects that, when completed, will impact positively on the welfare of the Kogi people.

What many have not really acknowledged is the new look of Lokoja, the state capital. The city used to be one of the dirtiest before the advent of the present administration in the state. But today, the city is wearing a good look with better intercity roads and saner environment. Achieving a new look Lokoja took the political will of the Governor. The boldness of the Governor to embark on Staff Verification Exercise is worthy of applause. Previous administrations in the state had seen the menace but they saw it as a fire that puts off whoever wants to put it off. But if the fire is not quenched, it would consume the state. And the Governor dared. At the Screening Centre, we have seen how a West African School Certificate holder was place on GL 13 as a Medical Officer by a former Deputy Governor. We have heard civil servants confessed printing certificates to gain employment. We have seen how people inherited the employment of of their late relatives with the connivance of people in authority. The exercise was as revealing as it is saving.

This is not to say the exercise didn’t come with some resistance and hardship. The entrenched corruption in the system put up a resilient resistance against the exercise. Media wars were waged against the government. But the belief of the people that the exercise is to their advantage has helped in winning the media war.

As a government, we have not shied away from the fact that the exercise caused the people some discomfort, even casualties while travelling for the exercise. We feel sorry about those incidents and feel strongly about ensuring the success of the exercise to decongest the doubt of the doubters on the genuineness of the exercise.

To ensure justice, the listening Governor recently set up a Screening Appeal Committee to listen to the complaints of the affected workers and ensure justice for all. Last December, the State Government ensured the surface dressing of the Lokoja-Okene, Obajana-Kabba, Ayetoro Gbedde-Egbe roads as well as many others across the state to give comfort to commuters. The gesture also reduced crime rate as there was free flow of traffic. That was a demonstration of good governance. GYB has already declared a State of Emergency in the agricultural sector of the economy. He referred to himself as the Chief Farmer of Kogi State.

He convoked an Agricultural Summit to which he dragged the juggernauts in the agricultural industry to the state and elucidated his plans, programs and policies for the development of the sector. By visiting the Kampe Omi Dam Project and signing an MOU with the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority for the use of the irrigable land and facilities at Omi Dam, the Governor has succeeded in demonstrating his desire to make Kogi the Agricultural Capital of Nigeria. The Healthcare Plus, a health program that takes the healthcare cost off the people, has not only strengthen healthcare access, but also leaves more money in the pockets of Kogites.

The past 13 months has seen Kogi flex its potential and the will of the Governor to write his name in gold. Revenue generation has improved despite no new taxes were imposed. Anti-corruption has been the bulwark of financial management prowess under the present administration. As a government, we expect constructive criticism. It helps grow the system and strengthen accountability and fiscal responsibility. As a democrat, the Governor is respectful of opposing views and superior alternate views.

However, not all critics are public good-driven. Some critics are uncomfortable with the anti-corruption war in Kogi State. Some critics are antagonistic of the Civil Service Reforms in the state because of their stinking anus. Some critics are playing a distractive game to enable the Governor lose focus. And the last will be explained last. To his officials, the Governor has said solid performance must be the answer to destructive criticism. Let me conclude with the faceoff between a splinter group of the APC Exco and the APC government in Kogi State. The Governor will not fight anyone. He is focused and unperturbed by the scheming of the few Exco members. Their gang up against the Governor “which God voted for” (in the words of Sen Dino Melaye), will not prevail.

All Kogites are looking forward with hope. The Governor is relentless in watering his seedlings to fruition. And the detractors are still in awe of the strength of character called Yahaya Bello. He invested millions on security by procuring Ford Rangers for patrol and better gadgets for 21st Century security. Today, he has been honoured as the number one crime fighters among the governors. More honours will come. Your Governor will listen.

By Kingsley Fanwo Fanwo Kingsley is the Director General on Media and Publicity, Office of the Governor of Kogi State, Lokoja.

Congenital Heart Defects are very common and critical birth defects, however survival and life expectancy of individuals with congenital heart disease have significantly increased with earlier diagnosis, improved surgical interventions and better medical management.

Every year, an estimated 85,000 children are born with congenital heart defects in Nigeria, all are currently referred out of the country for surgeries. A high proportion of children with surgically amenable congenital heart disease will require life-saving, invasive intervention to help improve their quality of life significantly. It is estimated that compared to their peers, the medical costs for individuals with congenital heart disease are 10 to 20 times greater funds most of these family cannot afford.

To this end, Hospitals for Humanity (HfH) an Atlanta based NGO, duly registered both in the US & Nigeria, has in the last two years conducted 49 paediatric cardiothoracic surgeries via its Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Initiative (PCTSI) and in Nigeria, made up of a world class team, providing care and services comparable to any first class institution while building capacities of local staff and fostering knowledge transfer.

Currently HfH has a patient list of over a 1000 patients, 200 of who URGENTLY need surgeries, having exhausted its funds in the largely pro bono efforts of the last two years, HfH seeks to raise funds via its 1K1M fundraising campaign to continue carrying out these surgeries for the needing children.

The 1K1M campaign seeks to raise funds from one million individuals who will give at least N1,000 each towards carrying out open-heart surgeries for 200 children with congenital heart defects.

Taking off in January 2017 and running throughout the year, the campaign will involve as many activities as possible all aimed at raising funds for this cause.

On board as proud partners and sponsors are Daar Communications, BellaNaija to mention a few.

We Are Missing The Old Ebira Movies Before You Start Producing - An Open Letter To Calabash

Sponsored Article by Ozovehe White Lion from UAE (United Arab Emirate), this article was paid for see how much we are charging for sponsored articles Click Here.

Its no news that the old Ebira Movies are the best Movies Ever Ebira people have ever produced and to my own notice, all are before Calabash started his business in Ebiraland.

Gone were the days when Ebira Movies from two acting groups Atigo and Mataga filming groups are rocking our land, to my own surprise most of the movies by this two groups are in audio and stage shows that look real with fascinating and educating stories, with a lot to learn compared to nowadays movies in Ebiraland (head meet desk) that are in VCD and in coloured and not black and white like the days, now look like stage shows that's boring its audience.

Technology is to give more values to the movie industry, from the visual quality to the acting and script qualities but to Ebira Movie industry, other way round is the case. Hope you try and make adjustment to this.

I read an article posted on,  (Top 10 Ebira Movies You Need To Watch) even though I have vowed not to spoil my mood again in the name of watching Ebira Movies, When I E-mailed Yakubu Binuyaminu. about how I can get some of this Movies here in UAE! I really appreciate him for getting me Ireta Echu, Barakatu and Agididoyin and other two after watching this movies I recalled and compared the qualities to when we only listened to dubbed voices and watched in black and white TV back then.

I will like you (Mr Calabash) to compare all nowadays movies from the stable of your movie industry to the below Old movies:-

Oyin Eiza (Elder Sister)
Ozi Oku (Motherless Child)
Ozube Eta (Three Hunters)
Mataga (The Pig Thieve)

Ozi Oku: is the only first Ebira dubbed Movie people listened to only voices without seen any moving objects on any screen and listeners broke to tears (How Emotional!!) Top actors are Onubedo and Anavami. Before it was later acted as video for everyone to watch if you watch it too you will agree with me on this ground.

Mataga: Also top Ebira comedy movie that earn a great respect.

Did you remember this song lines from Echunavo in one old movie like that I can't remember the title:

Emi Echu navo Oku eyi iruvo onuye wasiharega.

Emi anari Ahono edivi, edivi, ehimi, ehimi.

Emi ri Ori Ogwu Opa tu Egwu Uvo oku mire ku.

Ojinga Onoboni Ozoza iniresu Ozoz-Omegwuani.

Ozoz-Omegwu Ani, Megwani Oh, Ozoz-Omegwani.

I'm not the type that will analyze peoples problem for them without given them the solutions if I have one and if the person is going to follow them.

Its a simple thing to bring back, to revive the qualities of old movies again since its the days of technology, every movie must not be comedy in genre just because its make more money, I think more and more of tragedy movies are needed.

And lastly the old faces are Old, try and bring youths to act in the game they know more, thanks to Barakatu in some of her roles in the movies, the youths needs to know more about innovations, act movies in campuses, though its been a long time I've been in Nigeria last but I know Nigeria still got all those campuses good for filming and enough of the kasky sounds from background of movies.

I have tried my best to write in the last very simple English in other not to mislead the Readers my name is Ozovehe popularly called White Lion here in UAE I'm a Civil Engineer and a very big fan of Ebira Movies and for their non stop information from mother land (Ebiraland)

Mini Cooper Review

Mini Cooper Review

Who says you can't have it your way? It's a question asked by the 2016 Mini Cooper, a sporty compact that allows for a seemingly endless degree of customization. It's also stylish and a blast to drive. Let's find out what else makes the Mini Cooper so special. The 2013 Mini Cooper has incredibly nimble handling and powerful available turbocharged engines, but little cargo space and confusing center stack controls, according to critics.

Mini Cooper has a standard four-cylinder engine that auto writers said to have enough power for most drivers. According to reviewers, the turbocharged four-cylinder engines in the Cooper S and John Cooper Works models have strong acceleration and ample highway passing power. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, which auto journalists said has a precise shifter. A six speed automatic is available. Equipped with an automatic, the base Cooper gets an EPA-estimated 28/36 mpg city/highway, which is good for the class. Test drivers loved Mini Cooper’s sharp steering and strong brakes, and said it’s incredibly nimble and fun to drive. However, some test drivers wrote that the Cooper's great handling comes at the expense of ride quality, which they reported is quite firm over bumpy roads, especially on the more performance-oriented models.
Test drivers said the 2013 Mini Cooper’s retro-styled cabin has good fit and finish. There’s ample room in the front seats, reviewers mentioned, but space is limited in the back seat, and it isn't very adult-friendly. The Mini Cooper has 5.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 24 cubic feet of space with the seats folded, which is small for a subcompact car. A CD audio system with a USB port and an auxiliary input are standard. Available features include the Mini Connected infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, leather seats and navigation. Critics disliked the location of the window switches, which are low on the center stack, and said that the audio controls aren’t clearly labeled or easy to use.
